A few weekends ago when Jim was out of town I was trying to think of something fun to do so we could get out and enjoy the beautiful fall weather and colors. I decided to take the kids for a hike around a local lake. To keep the kids interested I used a friend's idea to do a scavenger hunt. They had a list of colors to find and other related fall items that they had to collect. This had them excited and running down the trails looking for the various items except when Maren decided to stop to say hi and talk to the squirrel playing in the trees.
This is their collection they ended up with:
We had fun playing in the fallen leaves along the trail and throwing rocks in the water along the way.
Jonas especially loved tasting the fall foliage.
It was a beautiful afternoon to be out enjoying the wonderful creations around us and the kids slept well that night!
