The missionaries..

Whitney: The other night Mom was going out on an exchange with the sister missionaries. While getting in the car to take us to our friends house, I took the opportunity to teach the missionaries about repentance. I told them, "My friend hits me and that's not nice so...then Jesus does his thing."

Dolphin watching...

Whitney: On Saturday, we headed down to Virginia Beach with some friends we've met through Daddy's work. We headed out on a boat tour to see Atlantic Bottlenose dolphins swimming in the ocean. It was really cool as some of them swam right next to the boat. Afterwards we walked over to the beach to play in the sand and waves. My favorite part at the beach was swimming and floating in my life jacket out in the big waves with my mommy.
Maren: I had fun crawling around in the sand and water and trying to do everything the big kids were doing.
Whitney: After the beach, our friends came over for dinner and to play. It was a long day but super fun.

Berry picking...

Last month we went down to Virginia Beach to pick blueberries and blackberries. We enjoyed all the fresh berries. It was a fun day but hot and humid. Here are a few fun shots!

Great day for the beach...

We had a great day today enjoying the wonderful weather! Mom got a 30 mile bike ride in this morning. Then we headed to Yorktown beach to meet some friends. It was sunny and about 80 degrees out with a slight breeze. The water was really warm with NO jellyfish. We both had so much fun swimming in the water and playing in the sand. Everytime Mom took Maren out of the water she would turn around and crawl straight back to it. To top off our great day at the beach, we headed to our friends house to BBQ for dinner. They have a great house right on the water. We enjoyed playing with our friends and Mom enjoyed the company, the beautiful view, and the chance to sit and relax. We'd share some pictures with you but Dad has the digital camera and Mom hasn't bought a new one yet.

Little Houdini...

Maren: Mom calls me the little Houdini now because this last week I've rapidly increased my crawling speed and have figured out how to pull myself up to standing on anything I can get my hands on. This allows me to get into so many more things! Last night I decided that Mom and sister weren't paying attention to me so I was going to get out of my crib and find them. Unfortunately, I hadn't yet learned the physics priniciple that what goes up must come down. After climbing over the side of the crib I quickly came crashing down to the floor. Mom immediately dropped the crib mattress to the lowest setting after that little stunt. Today I pulled another little Houdini trick on her. While we were at the grocery store, Whitney and I were securely strapped into the rocket ship cart. However when Mom turned to get some granola bars off the shelf, I quickly manuvered myself out of the seatbelt and was standing in the seat when she turned back around. She says I'm way too young to have learned that trick.

Goodbye Daddy!

We love and miss you, Daddy! Be safe and stay away from the bad guys while you're gone. Take good care of all those good people that are fighting for our freedoms. We'll try to be obedient to Mommy while you're gone (but it is sure hard sometimes!)
